WEBVTT 1 00:00:00.360 --> 00:00:05.639 Please remain standing. If you're able, let's return. Let's turn, return 2 00:00:05.759 --> 00:00:14.109 to Romans and turn to Romans Nine, verse thirty. Romans nine verse thirty. 3 00:00:21.149 --> 00:00:23.980 This is Romans nine verse thirty, and I'm going to read through ten, 4 00:00:24.059 --> 00:00:29.140 verse four. This is God's word. It's important that you give your 5 00:00:29.179 --> 00:00:36.729 attention to it. What shall we say then, that gentile's, who did 6 00:00:36.850 --> 00:00:42.009 not pursue righteousness, have obtained it? That is a righteousness that is by 7 00:00:42.049 --> 00:00:47.929 faith, but that Israel, who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness, 8 00:00:48.570 --> 00:00:55.359 did not succeed in reaching that law? Why? Because they did not 9 00:00:55.600 --> 00:01:00.280 pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They 10 00:01:00.399 --> 00:01:03.709 have stumbled over the stumbling stone, as it is written. Behold, I 11 00:01:04.189 --> 00:01:08.549 am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, and 12 00:01:08.750 --> 00:01:15.510 whoever believes in him will not be put to shame. Brothers, my heart's 13 00:01:15.590 --> 00:01:22.900 desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved, for 14 00:01:23.060 --> 00:01:26.700 I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according 15 00:01:26.739 --> 00:01:34.209 to knowledge. For being ignorant of the righteousness of God and seeking to establish 16 00:01:34.450 --> 00:01:40.290 their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. For Christ is the 17 00:01:40.409 --> 00:01:47.640 end of the law, for the righteousness to everyone who believes. May God 18 00:01:47.680 --> 00:02:05.189 bless his word to us and please be seated. Teachers want their students to 19 00:02:05.230 --> 00:02:12.750 learn the subject. Parents want their children to grow up and be successful. 20 00:02:14.550 --> 00:02:21.740 What pastors want? Pastors want their parishioners to be saved. They want the 21 00:02:21.900 --> 00:02:27.219 people that are hearing the words that they speak to hear them and be saved, 22 00:02:27.259 --> 00:02:35.930 to find life, saved from what to be saved? To have an 23 00:02:35.930 --> 00:02:39.810 understanding of salvation doesn't really make any sense unless you have an understanding of what 24 00:02:39.969 --> 00:02:45.199 you're being saved from. Well, fortunately, we've already spent a good time 25 00:02:45.400 --> 00:02:50.159 on that this morning, haven't we? Saved from our sin, which leads 26 00:02:50.199 --> 00:02:54.599 to death? I'm saved from our pride, which enslaves us, anger that 27 00:02:54.759 --> 00:03:01.229 destroys us, lust that blinds us, guilt that pierces our heart makes us 28 00:03:01.870 --> 00:03:06.789 heavy. It's sin, of course, that we all share, its sin 29 00:03:06.909 --> 00:03:12.150 that we're born into, its sin that we commit in this life. And 30 00:03:12.270 --> 00:03:16.099 in light of all this sin, Paul feels for the Jews and he says 31 00:03:16.139 --> 00:03:23.180 in verse ten brothers, my Heart's desire and prayer to God for them. 32 00:03:23.539 --> 00:03:29.250 That is Israel, that is that they may be saved, and this, 33 00:03:29.449 --> 00:03:31.849 of course, is my prayer for you as well this morning, my heart's 34 00:03:31.930 --> 00:03:38.370 desire, this is why I became a pastors, so that you may be 35 00:03:38.610 --> 00:03:45.159 saved. But, as any parent, teacher or pastor knows, one thing 36 00:03:45.199 --> 00:03:51.199 I've learned in all these roles is that you can't make anyone do anything is 37 00:03:51.479 --> 00:03:55.909 can't. I've experienced this as a parent, as a cello teacher and as 38 00:03:55.949 --> 00:04:00.830 a pastor. No matter how much I want something to happen, no matter 39 00:04:00.909 --> 00:04:05.750 how badly I want a thing, I just can't make it happen. I 40 00:04:05.909 --> 00:04:13.699 can't. I can't save you, I can't cause you to save yourself, 41 00:04:14.259 --> 00:04:18.860 but I can do that thing that Paul does here and that parents do and 42 00:04:18.899 --> 00:04:24.610 the teachers do, and that's point paints in this direction. Guide, lead, 43 00:04:24.930 --> 00:04:30.009 proud, yell, preach, do everything we can to encourage and instruct 44 00:04:30.129 --> 00:04:34.850 and help, to understand so that we can get you to that goal. 45 00:04:36.329 --> 00:04:41.079 But if you are to benefit from it, you have to be teachable, 46 00:04:41.759 --> 00:04:46.000 you have to listen, you have to pay attention, because there's certain instructions 47 00:04:46.120 --> 00:04:48.519 that are being given. Do this, do that, avoid this path, 48 00:04:48.720 --> 00:04:53.430 take this one, and this morning that's exactly what I want to do. 49 00:04:54.149 --> 00:04:58.750 I want to show to you and explain to you these two paths, these 50 00:04:59.149 --> 00:05:02.589 two choices that we have in this life, one that leads to the righteousness 51 00:05:02.629 --> 00:05:11.420 of God and salvation and life everlasting, and the other that does not but 52 00:05:11.579 --> 00:05:17.980 leads to death. First let's start by looking at some of the details in 53 00:05:18.060 --> 00:05:23.850 the text, and in doing that, the first thing will observe is an 54 00:05:23.889 --> 00:05:30.370 observation or a puzzle that Paul something he observes, a puzzle that he presents, 55 00:05:30.410 --> 00:05:35.040 and it's the first verse that we have, verse thirty. What shall 56 00:05:35.079 --> 00:05:39.920 we say then, in light of everything that he's said thus far? What 57 00:05:40.040 --> 00:05:44.199 do we conclude? And then he gives us the conclusion, which is itself 58 00:05:44.240 --> 00:05:46.800 a little bit of a puzzle. So here's his conclusion. I'll read it 59 00:05:46.839 --> 00:05:55.269 to you again from verse dirty, that Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have 60 00:05:55.629 --> 00:06:00.310 obtained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith, but that 61 00:06:00.629 --> 00:06:06.660 Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness, did not succeed in 62 00:06:06.899 --> 00:06:12.019 reaching that law. So you see what he's saying. He says there's these 63 00:06:12.100 --> 00:06:15.819 two groups, generally speaking, and there's all kinds of exceptions and qualifications that 64 00:06:15.899 --> 00:06:20.930 he's made in other places, but these setting forward this basic principle and fact 65 00:06:21.009 --> 00:06:26.370 of history that the gentiles who were not given the law of Moses, who 66 00:06:26.370 --> 00:06:32.800 didn't pursue the Law of Moses, ended up receiving justification the righteousness of God. 67 00:06:33.399 --> 00:06:36.920 There are all these gentiles, Paul says, who are standing before God 68 00:06:38.079 --> 00:06:44.480 and said and who are accounted as righteous, as holy. And yet then 69 00:06:44.480 --> 00:06:47.949 there is is real, who was given the law, who has pursued the 70 00:06:48.029 --> 00:06:53.990 law, a law that was meant to lead to righteousness, but they've not 71 00:06:54.189 --> 00:07:00.870 obtained it. How can the gentiles be justified before God, entering into the 72 00:07:00.949 --> 00:07:10.379 blood these blessings? But Israel not gentiles who are associated with paganism, idolatry, 73 00:07:10.459 --> 00:07:15.139 all kinds of sexual immorality, hatred, ignorance of God and all the 74 00:07:15.300 --> 00:07:19.089 things that he's given to Israel, they've obtained the righteousness of God. And 75 00:07:20.250 --> 00:07:25.209 then is real, to whom belongs the adoption and the glory and the covenants 76 00:07:25.209 --> 00:07:28.810 and the giving of the law and all the rest. They missed it. 77 00:07:30.600 --> 00:07:38.560 How are these things true? How does this work together? This reminds me 78 00:07:38.600 --> 00:07:43.120 of an experience I had in junior hive. There was a teacher who, 79 00:07:43.680 --> 00:07:46.110 on the first day of class, he was a math teacher, and he 80 00:07:46.149 --> 00:07:49.230 went to all the students and he handed out a quiz. This was on 81 00:07:49.310 --> 00:07:54.230 the very first day and this was a kind it was seventh grade, but 82 00:07:54.310 --> 00:07:57.629 it was an upper level math class. And he hands out this test all 83 00:07:57.670 --> 00:08:01.500 these students, and most of them are really hard working, diligent, quick 84 00:08:01.540 --> 00:08:05.459 students. He hands it out and he says, I want you to follow 85 00:08:05.500 --> 00:08:09.939 the instructions and then we'll will take this quiz and and then we'll go on 86 00:08:11.139 --> 00:08:16.370 with the rest of the class. Well, then you saw two things happen. 87 00:08:16.569 --> 00:08:20.410 First, you saw some of the students just sort of sitting there quietly, 88 00:08:20.569 --> 00:08:26.170 looking lazy, not really doing anything, not paying an attention. Then 89 00:08:26.209 --> 00:08:28.519 after a few minutes they start getting up and they just turn their quizzes and 90 00:08:30.279 --> 00:08:33.799 and then there's these other students working really fast and really hard trying to answer 91 00:08:33.799 --> 00:08:37.399 all these questions, and then they turn it in and they're looking around like, 92 00:08:37.559 --> 00:08:39.639 what am I doing wrong? And they turn it out and they hand 93 00:08:39.679 --> 00:08:46.429 it in and then the teach sure started dividing these tests into two piles and 94 00:08:46.549 --> 00:08:50.190 the students that seemed to be really fast and turned it in the beginning without 95 00:08:50.269 --> 00:08:54.029 having really done any work. All got a's and the students who were working 96 00:08:54.149 --> 00:09:00.940 really hard all failed, and everyone's going well, well, I'll say everyone 97 00:09:01.100 --> 00:09:05.179 was confused. Well, not everyone. The students who passed knew exactly why 98 00:09:05.220 --> 00:09:07.379 they had passed. It was the students who didn't pass. We're saying, 99 00:09:07.419 --> 00:09:11.210 I answered all the problems, I did better than I thought I would do, 100 00:09:11.289 --> 00:09:16.289 I'd worked really hard and did it fast. That's the sort of situation 101 00:09:16.570 --> 00:09:22.769 that the Israel is finding themselves in and that's the puzzle that Paul is addressing, 102 00:09:24.519 --> 00:09:31.639 and he gives the answer in verse thirty two. He says why? 103 00:09:33.200 --> 00:09:37.990 Answer? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it 104 00:09:39.110 --> 00:09:46.710 were based on works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. He goes on 105 00:09:46.870 --> 00:09:50.149 to say that they he's what he's saying here is that they pursued it in 106 00:09:50.269 --> 00:09:54.419 a particular way. So what? Going back to the test, what happened 107 00:09:54.500 --> 00:09:58.139 there? What happened is that the teacher had directions on the very top of 108 00:09:58.220 --> 00:10:03.899 the quiz that said write your name, sit for three minutes, then turn 109 00:10:03.980 --> 00:10:07.570 in the quiz, and that's what he said. When he hands out the 110 00:10:07.649 --> 00:10:11.330 test, he said follow the directions, and everyone did that. Those who 111 00:10:11.330 --> 00:10:16.690 followed the directions, who simply wrote their name, sat for three minutes and 112 00:10:16.809 --> 00:10:20.370 turned it in. All past the test and God a's the people that skipped 113 00:10:20.409 --> 00:10:24.440 the directions assumed they knew what was going on, and we're working frantically because 114 00:10:24.440 --> 00:10:28.039 they're smart, good students. They didn't pass just by getting all the answers 115 00:10:28.200 --> 00:10:33.720 correct. There were, there was a direction given the teacher, of course, 116 00:10:33.840 --> 00:10:37.549 was the point at the beginning of class was listened to me and follow 117 00:10:37.629 --> 00:10:43.149 my instructions. This was the real lesson that was being taught. But something 118 00:10:43.230 --> 00:10:48.990 similar is going on here. There is a way in which Israel is expecting 119 00:10:48.190 --> 00:10:52.899 to get the A, there's a way in which they're expecting to obtain the 120 00:10:54.059 --> 00:10:58.340 righteousness of God, to stand before him and be declared you are justified, 121 00:10:58.860 --> 00:11:05.809 you have done well, and they think the way is by doing the works 122 00:11:05.929 --> 00:11:09.690 of the law. If we'd work hard enough, if we do enough, 123 00:11:09.690 --> 00:11:11.730 if we're fast enough, if we're good enough, if we're obedient enough, 124 00:11:11.730 --> 00:11:16.250 if we're holy enough, we'll get the A, will get justification, will 125 00:11:16.250 --> 00:11:22.480 get glory, will get heaven. But Paul says it was never that way. 126 00:11:24.039 --> 00:11:28.399 They pursued the law as if it were based on works, he says, 127 00:11:30.120 --> 00:11:35.070 but it's not based on works. You didn't hear the directions, you 128 00:11:35.230 --> 00:11:41.429 didn't understand you didn't follow them. How do you obtain the righteousness of God? 129 00:11:41.830 --> 00:11:48.899 How do you pursue the law? Through faith, through faith, that's 130 00:11:48.940 --> 00:11:54.659 how you pursue the law and that's how you obtain justification. And that's why 131 00:11:54.700 --> 00:12:01.179 the gentiles got it, because they they got all the benefits of obedience of 132 00:12:01.220 --> 00:12:09.009 the law through the one who obeyed for them this law. To go a 133 00:12:09.090 --> 00:12:13.129 little deeper on what Paul is saying and to expound a little more from other 134 00:12:13.289 --> 00:12:18.559 places, Paul tells us it served this particular purpose. He gives two examples. 135 00:12:18.639 --> 00:12:22.639 In Galatians, for example, he calls the law a schoolmaster. That 136 00:12:22.840 --> 00:12:28.279 is meant to lead us to Christ. The law under with Israel received was 137 00:12:28.399 --> 00:12:35.029 to teach them. It was to teach them the requirements of God, it 138 00:12:35.230 --> 00:12:39.750 was to teach them their failures of their requirements, and it was to teach 139 00:12:39.830 --> 00:12:45.500 them the forgiveness that they received. That's what the sacrifices were all about. 140 00:12:45.740 --> 00:12:50.139 That's why the sacrifices were attached to that law. It was all to teach 141 00:12:50.299 --> 00:12:54.299 them and lead them to Christ. It was to show them, not if 142 00:12:54.340 --> 00:12:58.009 you do all these things you will be saved. It was to show them 143 00:12:58.289 --> 00:13:03.289 you can't do all these things, but I am providing for you a salvation 144 00:13:05.370 --> 00:13:11.250 in collossions to seventeen and Hebrews nine nine. Another a metaphor is used. 145 00:13:11.929 --> 00:13:16.360 The law and all the ceremonies are called a shadow of the things to come, 146 00:13:16.919 --> 00:13:20.600 like a like a shadow on a body. It's very similar to the 147 00:13:20.759 --> 00:13:24.799 body. It in many ways is it moves perfectly with it right, it's 148 00:13:24.840 --> 00:13:31.309 attached to it. Your shadow is never sort of somewhere else, it's never 149 00:13:31.590 --> 00:13:35.149 in another room. You never have to go get your shadow. It's always 150 00:13:35.190 --> 00:13:39.990 there, it's always with you. It's that connected. And yet it's not 151 00:13:39.190 --> 00:13:43.980 you. You can jump on your somebody can jump on your shadow and it 152 00:13:43.179 --> 00:13:48.299 doesn't hurt you. Right, somebody can poke it or put a hat on 153 00:13:48.419 --> 00:13:52.779 it, but it doesn't affect you personally. There's a separation between these two 154 00:13:52.820 --> 00:13:58.450 things and that's what Paul says about the law. He says it's a shadow 155 00:13:58.610 --> 00:14:01.889 of the things to come. There's an intimate connection, but they're not the 156 00:14:01.970 --> 00:14:07.730 same thing. The ultimate reality, the alternate thing God is giving is not 157 00:14:07.929 --> 00:14:15.039 the law but righteousness through Christ. But the Jews, he says, Israel, 158 00:14:15.200 --> 00:14:20.519 his brothers, didn't understand this. They had this zeal for God. 159 00:14:20.840 --> 00:14:26.429 He says. That's a positive thing, a good thing, but not according 160 00:14:26.470 --> 00:14:33.509 to knowledge. Zeal is, of course, very impressive, but it doesn't 161 00:14:33.549 --> 00:14:39.139 really mean anything if you're not using it properly. Imagine a the we just 162 00:14:39.259 --> 00:14:43.860 had the Olympics. Imagine Olympic runner, toned perfectly, training all the time, 163 00:14:45.620 --> 00:14:48.700 the fastest in the world, on your mark, gets a go and 164 00:14:48.740 --> 00:14:52.450 then he runs the other way right. You can be impressed at his strength, 165 00:14:52.649 --> 00:14:56.210 is stamina, at all the training he did, and yet go, 166 00:14:56.570 --> 00:15:01.370 oh no, what are you doing? You're going the wrong way. You 167 00:15:03.370 --> 00:15:05.649 this is zealous, this is powerful, this is good, but it's not 168 00:15:05.929 --> 00:15:13.879 according to knowledge. This is what they did, and that's kind of like 169 00:15:13.080 --> 00:15:16.759 what these students in this class did that I described. They were zealous, 170 00:15:16.799 --> 00:15:20.399 they wanted to perform, they wanted to do it right, but they weren't 171 00:15:20.429 --> 00:15:26.830 doing it according to knowledge because they hadn't paid attention, they hadn't listened well 172 00:15:26.950 --> 00:15:31.669 in scripture. It's worse. It's not merely a lack of understanding. Its 173 00:15:31.750 --> 00:15:37.740 Sin, Sin that clouds the heart, sin that blinds our eyes, and 174 00:15:37.860 --> 00:15:46.340 that's why God comes into the world to remove these things from us. Zeal 175 00:15:46.580 --> 00:15:48.539 is, of in course, impressive, but it has to go the right 176 00:15:48.700 --> 00:15:52.850 way. And what happened, Paul says, with Israel, is that they're 177 00:15:52.889 --> 00:15:56.330 moving along this path of the law, they're moving along it in an historical 178 00:15:56.409 --> 00:16:02.929 kind of way, historically moving through. But then, but then when they 179 00:16:03.049 --> 00:16:04.840 reach the end of the law, when they get to the end of the 180 00:16:04.919 --> 00:16:10.799 road and there is Christ, this great stone, this great rock of Salvation, 181 00:16:11.039 --> 00:16:15.120 they stumble over it, they fall over it because they were never going 182 00:16:15.440 --> 00:16:22.070 to reach Christ. They were trying to establish something on their own. Everything 183 00:16:22.110 --> 00:16:25.710 that they were doing, he says, wasn't to find the righteousness of God, 184 00:16:25.909 --> 00:16:30.909 it was to establish their own righteousness. The gentiles, on the other 185 00:16:32.309 --> 00:16:36.100 hand, coming from the other direction, not coming in their own power and 186 00:16:36.220 --> 00:16:41.779 their own strength, but recognizing how evil they are, recognizing how fallen they 187 00:16:41.779 --> 00:16:45.779 are, seeing that they cannot please God on their own, they come by 188 00:16:45.940 --> 00:16:51.570 faith and instead of seeing a stumbling stone and a rock of offense, it's 189 00:16:51.649 --> 00:16:56.570 the foundation of the temple, it's the House of salvation that God welcomes them 190 00:16:56.690 --> 00:17:03.359 into and they come in and they rejoice. These are the two ways that 191 00:17:03.559 --> 00:17:08.920 we have, a way of building our own righteousness, of establishing our own 192 00:17:10.119 --> 00:17:18.509 glorious house, or trusting in Jesus. Charles Hodge says, the knowledge that 193 00:17:18.589 --> 00:17:25.190 the Jews had was neither enlightened nor wise, neither right about its objects nor 194 00:17:25.349 --> 00:17:30.019 correct about its character. In many ways this shouldn't have been a surprise. 195 00:17:30.220 --> 00:17:33.460 God was saying these things all along. The prophets were telling them, they 196 00:17:33.460 --> 00:17:41.099 were being reminded, the covenants encapsulated them. But sin is stubborn, and 197 00:17:41.259 --> 00:17:47.930 that's our lesson. We are meant to hear Israel and hear her experiences and 198 00:17:48.089 --> 00:17:52.609 not say you guys were idiots. No, we see ourselves in them. 199 00:17:52.410 --> 00:17:59.480 We see that this is our experience, our stubbornness, our failures. But 200 00:17:59.559 --> 00:18:03.200 when Jesus Christ comes into the world, lives a perfect life on our behalf, 201 00:18:03.880 --> 00:18:10.480 provides for us everything that God has promised in his covenants, and he 202 00:18:10.599 --> 00:18:14.390 says this is yours by faith alone, not by the works of the law. 203 00:18:15.349 --> 00:18:18.910 It allows us to jump tracts. God allows us to jump tracks. 204 00:18:19.230 --> 00:18:22.509 He says, you don't have to stay on this path. Anymore. You 205 00:18:22.589 --> 00:18:29.220 don't have to continue building your righteousness and depending on it. And if you 206 00:18:29.579 --> 00:18:33.819 know how good, for those of you are listening on audio and putting that 207 00:18:33.900 --> 00:18:41.490 in quotes, good your righteousness is. This is good news because when we 208 00:18:41.609 --> 00:18:44.930 look at our hearts and we see our failures and we see our stumbling and 209 00:18:45.089 --> 00:18:51.930 we see how badly we are doing life, how badly we are actually meeting 210 00:18:52.049 --> 00:18:56.519 the righteous requirements of God, the fact that God is saying, I'm giving 211 00:18:56.519 --> 00:19:00.960 it to you all through the sacrifice of my son. It belongs to you 212 00:19:02.559 --> 00:19:07.359 here receive it. That's good news. To be forgiven of our sins, 213 00:19:07.519 --> 00:19:12.509 to be given the righteousness of God and all the things that we inherit as 214 00:19:12.509 --> 00:19:19.150 a result of that. That's wonderful. Staying on that old path would be 215 00:19:19.269 --> 00:19:26.259 like finding a box of like. You go to a you find a a 216 00:19:26.420 --> 00:19:30.660 box of like an Ikea bookshelf in a dumpster. You say I'm going to 217 00:19:30.740 --> 00:19:34.859 build something great and you pull it out and you find that the woods warped 218 00:19:34.940 --> 00:19:37.690 in, the pieces are missing and your but you're going to do it anyway, 219 00:19:37.730 --> 00:19:41.130 right and you're putting it together and there's no shelf in the backs missing. 220 00:19:41.210 --> 00:19:45.730 There isn't the proper side, there's no screws and the little turnything they 221 00:19:45.769 --> 00:19:48.009 give you isn't there. But yeah, you're going to keep working on it. 222 00:19:48.410 --> 00:19:53.160 That's what we are doing when we pursue our own paths of self righteousness. 223 00:19:53.519 --> 00:20:00.480 We're working on this dumpster project. Meanwhile, God has said here is 224 00:20:00.599 --> 00:20:07.549 a house, a mansion, a Seity, a new heavens and a new 225 00:20:07.710 --> 00:20:11.390 earth, and it's it's yours. I've built it it, I've built it, 226 00:20:11.670 --> 00:20:17.509 I've constructed it and I've put the foundation. The thing that you used 227 00:20:17.549 --> 00:20:23.339 to stumble over is now the corner stone, The rock of righteousness, the 228 00:20:23.500 --> 00:20:33.059 security of all of your life. Don't keep building your bookshelves, but trust 229 00:20:33.180 --> 00:20:37.529 in the Lord, Jesus Christ. Hear what Paul is saying and be saved. 230 00:20:37.970 --> 00:20:44.049 Pursue The Lord and his righteousness and pursue it with zeal, but don't 231 00:20:44.130 --> 00:20:48.250 pursue it by continuing to work on your on yourself, thinking that one day 232 00:20:48.369 --> 00:20:52.880 you will finally please God by doing enough good or atoning for enough bad. 233 00:20:55.920 --> 00:21:02.359 Please God by accepting the gift that he is giving to you, and the 234 00:21:02.440 --> 00:21:07.750 rock of offense that is Jesus Christ will become the one on whom in whom 235 00:21:07.829 --> 00:21:12.470 you will never, ever be put to shame. You will never be embarrassed. 236 00:21:12.509 --> 00:21:17.710 No one will ever look at you when when the judgment comes and say, 237 00:21:18.069 --> 00:21:21.859 well, that was a silly thing you've been working on. When we 238 00:21:22.180 --> 00:21:26.700 receive the glory of God that comes through faith in Christ, none of us 239 00:21:26.140 --> 00:21:30.420 will be ashamed, none of us will be embarrassed, none of us will 240 00:21:30.500 --> 00:21:37.410 think we lost a single thing, and indeed we won't. Christ is the 241 00:21:37.490 --> 00:21:42.609 end of the law. He is the righteousness of everyone who believes. Believe 242 00:21:42.809 --> 00:21:48.960 on him and be saved. Let's pray
